Shipping costs vary per country and are calculated in the shopping cart.
IXXI is not responsible for additional costs such as taxes or import and customs duties charged outside the EU. These costs will always be borne by the customer. If you import products from another country, there is always a chance you have to pay import duties, not only for our products. The amount depends on the legislation of each country. For this reason we cannot specify or calculate this in advance. We are therefore not the one to charge the additional costs. FedEx does this through customs.
In just a few simple steps, your IXXI will be on the wall. You connect the cards of your IXXI together using the provided tools, attach the wall clips to the wall using the hanging tool, and then click your IXXI onto the wall clips.
In our online manual, you'll find step-by-step instructions on how to do this. All you need is a spirit level and a piece of tape.

In principle, an IXXI can be hung on any surface. However, it is important that the surface is clean, grease-free, and not too rough.
An IXXI comes with a standard hanging system: the hanging tool, wall clips, tesa Powerstrips adhesive strips, and concrete nails. The tesa Powerstrips adhesive strips adhere best to a smooth, clean, hard, non-porous surface. By additionally using concrete nails, the hanging system is also suitable for rough plasterwork, coarse texture paint, vinyl wallpaper, or other types of walls. Below, we provide some additional tips.
Washable (latex) paint
We sometimes find that the tesa Powerstrips adhesive strips do not adhere well to washable (latex) paint. In this case, lightly sanding the areas where the tesa Powerstrips adhesive strips will be placed may help. This will make the surface slightly rougher and improve the adhesion of the tesa Powerstrips adhesive strips.
Wallpaper
To attach your IXXI to wallpaper, we recommend purchasing tesa Powerstrips adhesive strips for wallpaper and plaster. These are available at various hardware stores.
Tiles
If you plan to hang your IXXI on tiles, for example in the bathroom, there are also special tesa Powerstrips adhesive strips for tiles that you can purchase. These are available at various large hardware stores and will provide better adhesion. Tip: be inspired by this article!
Rough wall (plaster finish)
In our manual, we recommend using the supplied nails as an additional tool. Especially on rough walls (plaster finish), they provide extra reinforcement. For added security, you could even add an extra nail in the middle at the top. For really rough walls, there are also special tesa Powerstrips adhesive strips for plaster. These adhere better to this type of wall and are available at various hardware stores.
Alternatively, you can attach the IXXI to a thin slat. You attach the IXXI to the slat as described in the manual, and then attach it to the wall like a painting.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to order individual cards from an IXXI in our collection due to cutting margins and potential color differences.
The minimum resolution - or technical quality - of your photo depends on the dimensions of your final IXXI. The larger your IXXI, the higher the resolution (pixel density) should be.
Depending on the chosen tile size, use the following guidelines:
For 10 x 10 cm cards, a photo should be between 300 and 500 pixels.
For 20 x 20 cm cards, a photo should be between 600 and 1,000 pixels.
If you're creating a collage with one photo per card, follow the guidelines above for each photo. If you want to enlarge one photo over multiple cards, you'll need to do some math. For example: if your enlargement is 100 cm wide, then your photo should be between 3,000 and 5,000 pixels. (5 cards of 20 x 20 cm. 5 x 600 - 1,000 = 3,000 - 5,000).
Visual quality
In addition to technical quality, it's also important to assess visual quality thoroughly. You can read more about this in this article.

Color
Both RGB and CMYK are possible. RGB colors are converted to CMYK in the printing process. Please note: due to this process and your screen settings, (bright) colors on your screen may differ slightly from the final print. Synaps, the material used to make an IXXI, is matte and does not have a glossy finish like photo paper.

Resolution guidelines for professionals
We recommend a resolution of 150 dpi (1:1) for optimal results. This equates to 1000 x 1000 px per card, with a minimum file size of 500 × 500 px per card.
